The Berkeley Journal of Sociology uses a blind review process to evaluate submissions. Reviewers are graduate students in the Berkeley Department of Sociology who serve on the Journal’s editorial board. All submissions to the BJS receive a decision letter from the editorial board containing substantive comments. Authors should receive this letter within 2-4 weeks after submission.
The Berkeley Journal of Sociology is an annual publication and reviews submissions on a rolling basis, subject to deadlines advertised in our Call for Papers. Volumes are typically published in late summer or early fall.
